OUR  CHURCH.

Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur is centrally located at the bustling town of Dimapur. The Church was built through the visionary of the first settlers on 29th of November 1957 and is recognized by the Lotha Baptist Churches Association. Currently the Church has over 5,000 full fledged members.

HISTORY  OF THE  MIGRATION OF LOTHA IN DIMAPUR

According to records, the early Lothas migrated from Makhani to Dimapur since they were living in and around Dimapur even before the Japan war. From the time of the Baptist, the present Kukidolong has been Lotha Village naming as Khumkiri. Owing to lack of foresightedness and not permanently settled by the early Lothas, the village was occupied by other tribes. 

As per legendary story by the foresettlers, owing to malaria fever they did not settled permanently. In 1942 Rhanlamo Lotha was transfered to this place while serving as Sub Inspector in Assam Police. On 26th November 1942 Sanchisao (Riphyim) Nyamo (Longsa) Konchio (Wokha) Mmhonchumo (Longsa) came and settled. The same year, following persons acme and settled together.

  • Eramo Pisamo – Wokha
  • Eramo Tanphio – Phiro
  • Eramo Merithung – Yamhon
  • Eramo Manchio – Longsa
  • Eramo Chilow – Changsu
  • Eramo Ekyimo – Riphyim
  • Eramo Rasow – Riphyim
  • Eramo Zanthungo – Changsu
  • Eramo Zanthungo – Longsa
  • Eramo Nyimlamo – Yikhum

After the above settled permanently, others from different Lotha villages also came and settled. 

LOTHA NA DIMAPUR YANTSU SHILO YIO JI MOTSÜ
