Eküm Süya Ministry

‘Ekum Suya’ is an initiative of the Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur, installed in the year 2010. This initiative is fueled by principles that run on basic objective which is focused on ensuring enhanced livelihood to struggling families and individuals. Ekum Suya initiative targets to aid and work with members who have the determination and will to progress but lack resources needed to catapult them to their goals.

Ministries:

Beyond the basic objective, this initiative also envisions a wider spectrum of goals focused towards specific strata of the society within the church members.

Mission:

The ultimate objective of Ekum Suya initiative is to enable the beneficiaries to stand on their own feet and make them self reliant to become men and women of integrity who can continue to serve and walk with the Lord.

The year 2024 marks the 14th years since the inception of the mission. This year also marks the 5th tenure of Ekum Suya committee with each tenure holding office for a period of 3 years.

The current tenure  i.e. 2022-2024 has embarked on a new exercise of accounting the progress of the mission since the inception. As such, a first time intensive and extensive survey and review was carried out. The result of this survey highlights that in this fourteen years, this mission has undertaken the initiative of aiding genuine and deserving beneficiaries who were selected and shortlisted through guidelines and criteria laid down by the Ekum Suya committee (Refer file). Till today (2024) the Ekum Suya initiative have extended a helping hand to 73 individuals or families in the form of financial aid.

An important outcome of the survey has revealed a noticeable number of ‘Success Stories” in terms of achieving their goals. Though the number may not be staggering, it definitely had boosted the morale of those engaged in the committee working for this cause to work harder and smarter to achieve better progress. As a follow up activity to complement the survey, two formal programs were organised in 12th Nov. 2022 and 24th Aug. 2023 where beneficiaries with ‘success stories” came forward to share their experiences. Some even took the opportunity to even testify the wonders God has done through this mission in their life.

Today as the mission steps into another year (2024) to discharge the assignment, the Ekum Suya committee with great zeal and zest anticipate to bring about more transformation amongst the church community through gesture of kindness and support of all.
