Background of LBCD Missions
LBCD Missions began its journey in 1975 with two evangelists committed to spreading the Gospel among the Naga and non-Naga populations. Motivated by the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), the organization believes its purpose lies in fulfilling Jesus' words (John 14:12). Over the decades, LBCD Missions has broadened its outreach, engaging in both domestic and international evangelism.
Mission Statement
"Go, preach, baptize them and make disciples of Jesus Christ" (Matthew 28:19-20).
Vision
To reach the people living in the Himalayas and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
To take the Gospel wherever the Lord opens the door.
Mission Activities of LBCD
LBCD Missions focuses on two primary areas: Home and Outreach.
Home Mission Activities
1. Eküm Süya (Livelihood Mission):
Offers one time interest-free grants to eligible church members for starting up a sustainable income sources in farm and non-farm sectors.
2. Christmas Ematha (Joy) Foundation.
Aims to foster unity within the church by supporting various community segments during the Christmas season.
3. Eyilo Ministry (Hope Ministry):
Established on April 19, 2009, to provide support and healing for those affected by HIV/AIDS. The term "eyilo," meaning "hope," reflects its mission of care, awareness, and inclusivity.
4. Human Resource Development (HRD):
Provides grants to theological students and scholarships to deserving school students, nurturing future leaders.
5. Evangelism:
Actively shares the Gospel in local areas, recognizing the home city as a vital mission field.
6. Motsuza Okho:
An evangelistic prayer group meeting weekly to support church programs and pray for various concerns.
Through these activities, LBCD strengthens its community in Christ's love.
Outreach Mission of LBCD
1. Financial Support:
Extends financial aid to churches, mission organizations, and theological institutions to promote the Gospel.
2. Partnership Mission Project:
Collaborates with the Community Transformation Centre in Siliguri, supporting two evangelists in different locations.
3. Phuguri Area Mission (Darjeeling, West Bengal):
Oversees mission efforts in Phuguri with four evangelists managing outreach activities.
4. International Collaboration:
An MoU with the Nepal Baptist Church Council enhances mission work in Nepal, with two evangelists assigned to different regions.
